    Selkie Project 2007

Community Visual believes in integrating artforms to achieve greater inclusion for individual needs and interests and equal participation. The workshops are experimental and allow time for participants to lead the direction in new ways.

Selkie Project was a ten week project combing visual art, music and dance led by artists Audrey O' Brien, Annie Grace and Linda Payne.  This project was inspired by life, colours, shapes and sounds from under the sea and the BBC TV series The Blue Planet narrated by David Attenborough.

The first four weeks were led by Audrey O'Brien in photography, drawing and sculpture. The group worked on individual drawings which developed into a large scale drawing on watercolour paper. From each individual’s drawings sculptural forms were created using mixed media. Each of these objects was inspired by creatures from the deep sea.

The dance workshops were led by Linda Payne and incorporated the art works into balance, movement and dance compositions.
